Hello again from India! Baby CJ, my husband and I are here for the week visiting family. It is our son’s first trip, so as you can imagine, it’s been a little crazy around the house with an endless barage of guests wanting to meet the baby. Not that we don’t love having company or anything…it was just time to get out.
Since our arrival I kept hearing about the new road to Agra. What used to be a 4-6 hour drive (half of which would typically be spent stuck in traffic just getting out of Delhi) is now about 3. There’s a really famous mausoleum down there that some dude built for his wife like 400 years ago, so we decided to take a day trip and go check it out…
Along the way we saw a sign alerting us to a wildlife viewing opportunity…
It was a cool-looking sign so we stopped to take a picture.
Then we saw a whole family of Nilgai less than a mile away. I’ve only seen a Nilgai once before in India, so this was surely a treat!
We also saw a cow
…and some water buffalo playing in the river
…and some camels. We opted for a golf cart instead.
We were hungry after our long journey so we stopped to get a snack along the way. It was pretty tasty.
Then we bought our tickets.
Because I came to visit all the way from California, I even got to pay a special price!
Next we waited in some lines
…and went through security. Just like at the airport they wanted to pat me down and inspect my baby’s food. Luckily, they didn’t want me to take off my shoes…yet.
Once we made it through, we stopped to snap a quick family photo before entering the gate.
